Business Operations Support Services (BOSS)

BOSS provides DISA’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer with a full spectrum of technical, programmatic and support services that change over time as requirements shift. These advisory services must be separate from the system development contractor in order to provide the government with independent technical and financial expertise.

Providing Support Services to the Office of the Chief Technology Officer

The Client: The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) has been assigned the responsibility for defining the overall technical strategies for the Defense Information systems Agency (DISA). These strategies are the basis for the development, sustainment, and operations of critical net-centric products and services provided by DISA. DISA a Combat Support Agency, engineers and provides command and control capabilities and enterprise infrastructure to continuously operate and assure a global net-centric enterprise in direct support to joint warfighters, National level leaders, and other mission and coalition partners across the full spectrum of operations.

The Challenge: The Office of the CTO (OCTO) supplements its staff with contractor support services that provide a variety of technical and project management skills that change over time as requirements shift. These advisory services must be separate from the system development contractor in order to provide the government with independent technical and financial expertise.

The Solution: The principal challenge of this project was to maintain the proper balance between scope, cost, time, and quality. Uninterrupted, high quality and overall effective contract management was ensured by our project management approach that uses repeatable project management processes and software tools for project planning, tracking, and cost and schedule control.

The Result: Team KeyLogic provides mission planning and execution actions in the area of strategic planning and coordination; program, portfolio, and project management; analysis and quality assurance; programming, planning, and budget; and acquisition and contract management support. Additional business-line improvement support functions include focused process reviews; strategic process improvement planning; tracking/monitoring and feedback for program control functions; and standard operating procedures for updating OCTO culture and practices.
