
We are excited to announce that Troy Hawkins has joined KeyLogic as Principal Engineer on Feb 24, 2025. With his wealth of expertise and experience, Troy will play a key role in guiding the development of innovative energy systems through his leadership and advisory role for systems analysis efforts across the energy and environment sector.
Troy brings an extensive background in economic and environmental analysis. He most recently served as the Fuels & Chemicals Group Lead in Argonne National Laboratory’s Systems Assessment Center. While in this role, Troy led the team providing analysis for the Bioenergy Technologies Office as well as numerous other DOE, Federal, and private sponsors. His work contributed to the development of the Greenhouse Gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy Use in Technologies (GREET) Model and related models for analysis of fuels, chemicals, plastics, carbon management technologies, and the transition of energy systems across the U.S. economy. He received the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment’s LCA Leader of the Year in Government Award in 2023. From Fiscal Year 2024 until he joined KeyLogic, Troy has served as a Senior Advisor for Strategic Analysis for the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management.
Throughout his career, Troy has demonstrated a strong commitment to producing high quality, impactful research focused on addressing key questions for decision-makers and bringing together capabilities to address complex challenges. His professional experience includes roles with the Eastern Research Group (ERG), Enviance, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the University of Pittsburgh. Through these roles, he has provided decision-relevant analysis for clients across a wide range of sectors and interests. He published the first comprehensive life cycle assessment of an electric vehicle, was a founding member of the Federal LCA Commons Working Group. and has coauthored over 100 peer reviewed articles. His work has ranged from consulting engagements for Fortune 500 companies to leading complex, multi-institution projects for government sponsors. Troy’s skills and expertise align perfectly with our mission to solve complex challenges through innovation.
He holds a joint PhD in Engineering and Public Policy and Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Troy’s expertise along with his commitment to advancing systems analysis, will undoubtedly bring valuable insight and innovative solutions to the KeyLogic team.
